Head of Data Science - Interim Head of Machine Learning

January 27, 2022

Meet Nicolai Jacobsen, Corti's Head of Data Science! 👋

Nicolai works at Corti as our Head of Data Science and interim Head of Machine Learning. Nicolai joined Corti over three years ago, and has been part of growing alongside the company, and experiencing some great memories throughout the journey.

In his free time, he's found a great interest in teaching, which he does outside of work. Additionally, he likes challenging himself and pushing his boundaries.

"Last year, a few colleagues and I decided to go high-diving, which resulted in us being able to do back-flips and front-flips, but yeah, some of us did get hurt.. Because, well, jumping out from 5 meters and above will hurt you - if you land wrong."

At Corti, Nicolai leads the Data Science Team and stresses how important it is to understand how different people are in a leadership setting.

"People are not all the same, and that the way that you help and provide leadership to people needs to be adapted to each person. It is crucial that you understand that as a manager and consider that when leading a team."

Nicolai's biggest motivator at Corti is the people around him - he's been with the company for a long time, and a continuous factor has been the passion people have to contributing their knowledge around him.

"It is incredibly inspiring to be in an environment where you can see people who are really passionate about what they're doing and contributing as much as they are, that is truly what I want in a work environment, and that is what we're getting here at Corti."

Thank you for being with us, Nicolai. We're lucky to have you! 🙏
